Obituary for Donald Tomlins

Donald Tomlins, age 89, of Liberty Borough, died February 23, 2019, at home. Born September 23, 1929, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late George and Margaret (Miller) Tomlins and the husband of Elizabeth (Schultz) Tomlins for over 56 years. Don retired from USS Christy Park Works and then continued working at CP Industries until his second retirement. He was a US Navy veteran, serving during the Korean War and a member of the White Oak American Legion Post # 701. Don enjoyed working with his hands and caring for his home. Although, his greatest joy was spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, Don is survived by his son, Donald K. (Michele) Tomlins of Peters Twp.; grandchildren, Tina Marie, Ashley and Mara; great grandchildren, Abby, Gavin, Ella and Lyla; also nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by siblings, George, Lena, Robert, Anna, LaVerne and LaRue. Family and friends will gather at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at 12:30 p.m. A funeral service will be celebrated in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, at 2 p.m. Military honors will follow. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, PA 38105.
