William Woodworth Obituary

William L. “Woody” Woodworth, age 74, of McKeesport, died October 31, 2021, at home. Born January 9, 1947, in McKeesport, Woody was a son of the late Lawrence and Louise (Kugler) Woodworth-Hickman. Woody retired as an electrician with 20 years of employment at the Westinghouse Atomic Plant.  He proudly served his country in Vietnam as a U.S. Marine and was a member of White Oak American Legion, Post #701. An enthusiast of 1950’s movies and all Westerns, he also enjoyed Pittsburgh Doo Wop concerts, watching all Pittsburgh sports teams, and building model vehicles. Woody loved his pets and animals of all kinds. The most important thing to Woody was the time he got to spend with his grandchildren and his weekly visits with his sister. Survivors include sons, Paul Fisher, Brian and Steve Woodworth; grandchildren, Chance, Cody, and Hallie; siblings, Don (the late Marilyn) Kugler of California, Robert (Jean) Woodworth of VA, and Margaret Woodworth of Wall; also many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and sister-in-law, Woody was also preceded in death by his former wife and friend Kathleen Woodworth. Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Saturday, November 6, 2021, from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Military honors and committal will take place at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at a later date. Memorial contributions are suggested to Vietnam Veterans of America at www.vva.org.
