John T. Richel

John T. Richel, age 73, of Port Vue, died February 19, 2020, at home. Born August 17, 1946, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late John E. "Babe" and Agnes (Hoffmeister) Richel.
John worked at US Steel Clairton Works, where he was a security guard. He was a US Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War. John was a member of the American Legion Post # 447 of Port Vue. He was also a member of St. Mark Parish in Liberty Borough. John enjoyed walking and a good conversation with friends.
He is survived by his sisters, Patricia Brimacombe of Port Vue and Rosemary (Thomas) Bub of Fairfax, VA; many nieces and nephews; good friends, Ron and Don Swauger.
In addition to his parents, John was also preceded in death by his sister, Lois Fairbaugh; brother-in-law, William Brimacombe.
Arrangements were entrusted to Willig Funeral Home & Crematory.
Inurnment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at a later date.
