Dolores M. (Varkonda) Solomon

Dolores M. Solomon, age 87, of McKeesport, died September 15, 2019, at Allegheny General Hospital. Born January 24, 1932, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Steve and Mary Varkonda and the wife of the late Leo Solomon.
Dolores was a soft-spoken, sweet lady that had kindness and compassion for everyone. She was a selfless caregiver who dedicated her life to her family and home. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren. She enjoyed attending all of their school events. Dolores was a life-long member of the former Holy Trinity Church of McKeesport and a current member of St. Patrick's Church.
She is survived by her children, James (Sandra) Solomon of McKeesport, Sandy Solomon of McKeesport and Tina (David) Denardo of White Oak and son-in-law, Armand Detore of North Huntingdon; grandchildren, Gianna, A.J.,Dominic and David: step-grandchildren, Becky, Bobby, and Giadona; step-great-grandsons, Keith "Ralphi" and Cy; also nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Dolores was also preceded in death by her cherished daughter, Diane Detore; siblings, Irene Uziel, and Ed Varkonda.
Private family arrangements were entrusted to Willig Funeral Home & Crematory. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Patrick Church. Burial followed in McKeesport & Versailles Cemetery.
