Richard J. Watkins

Richard J. Watkins "Mr. Dickie", age 95, of McKeesport, died October 5, 2023, at home. Born October 17, 1927, in Greensburg, he was the son of the late Perry Blannon and Alberta (Ganie) Blannon and the husband of Rose (Campbell) Watkins.
He retired from the City of McKeesport as an Ordinance Officer. He was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. Richard loved to Barbecue; he would smoke everything from ham to ribs and sell it to everyone in the community.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Demaris Watkins, Remona Watkins, Shelley Campbell, Carla Campbell, and Redina Campbell, Deborah Campbell, and Chaz Campbell nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three siblings.
Arrangements were entrusted to Willig Funeral Home & Crematory.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023, 12 p.m. at Creative Ministries Berachah Church, 1422 Evans St. McKeesport, PA 15132.
