Lucy I. Hammerstrom

Lucy I. Hammerstrom, age 87, of McKeesport, died October 20, 2023, at Kane Community Living Center. Born September 16, 1936, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ida ( Dispenza ) Rizzo and the wife of the late John B. Hammerstrom.
Lucy retired from Auberle of Mckeesport, where she was a cook for over 20 years. She was a Mary, Mother of God Parish member and attended St. Patrick Church. Lucy was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, enjoyed watching TV land, and working crossword puzzles. 
She is survived by her sons, Mark Hammerstrom of McKeesport and Eric (Sandra) Hammerstrom of VA; grandchildren, Brooke (Edward) Barca of Pittsburgh, Zachary Hammerstrom of McKeesport, and Samantha (Dom) Derosa of  Shaler; sister, Connie Guzewicz of McKeesport; also many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her husband and parents, Lucy was also preceded in death by her siblings, Joe Rizzo, Frances Stojanovic, and Tony Rizzo.
Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, 11:30 a.m., at St. Patrick's Church. Committal prayers and burial will follow in McKeesport & Versailles Cemetery.
