Obituary

Harry A. James, age 66, of Johnstown, PA, died Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.  Born on July 4, 1956, in McKeesport, he was the son of the
late Harry J. and Louise A. James.  Harry graduated from McKeesport High School and attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and the University of Arizona, studying business and criminology.  He moved to Massachusetts, where his career in the mortgage industry took off and spanned 30 years across the country.  He worked for several companies but ultimately became self-employed and retired after assisting people buying homes and businesses, helping them obtain loans, closing on sales, and with all aspects of their successful search for their properties.  He loved to read and collect books; he enjoyed sports of all types, especially watching wrestling with his boys.  He was an avid car collector and had a history of car ownership most men would understand.  He was very passionate about his religion and was in the midst of plans to purchase a local church where he resided. Harry is survived by his three children whom he loved dearly, Harry (Stacy), Daniel, and Veronica and one grandchild are on their way.  He is also survived by sisters, Helene Cooke, Denise Hall, and Nadine (Jay)Penwell; seven nieces and nephews and 15 great nieces and great nephews, and three great-great nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert James.  A private Memorial service and committal prayers for the family will be held at New St. Joseph Cemetery in North Versailles.
