Alonzo R. Campbell

September 18, 1972 ~ June 13, 2023 (age 50) 50 Years Old

Obituary

Alonzo R. Campbell, age 50, of McKeesport, died June 13, 2023, at UPMC McKeesport Hospital.  Born September 18, 1972, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of Tyrone D. (Bridgette) Alfred, Milton E. Hall, Sr., and the late Francine (Campbell) Hall and the loving husband of Edna Jones-Campbell for 25 years.  Alonzo grew up in Washington, D.C., and moved to Clairton in October 2011 to seek a shorter wait list for a kidney transplant.  He successfully received a new kidney in November of 2017 and was overjoyed that he no longer needed as many doctor visits and dialysis.  In May of 2022, his body began to reject the donated kidney and his health declined.  Even though Alonzo had lived in Pittsburgh for many years, he remained loyal to his D.C. roots cheering on the Redskins, now the Commanders, never converting to a Steelers fan.  He spent time shooting guns at the range and always had an affinity for cars.  Alonzo was always known as a family man.  Not only raising his children but becoming a father figure and mentor to many family and friends.  Alonzo is also survived by his children, Chantoria Robinson, Alondra Jones-Campbell, Alonzo Campbell, Jr., and Tyrese Campbell; grandchildren, Keisha, Kalynn, Wesley, Tyler, Wyatt, and Tyrese Jr.; siblings, Timothy, Milton Jr. (Kim), Charles (Latoya), Francine (Charles), and Robert.  He is also survived by many other brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.  Arrangements were entrusted to Willig Funeral Home & Crematory.  Condolences and memories may be shared at www.willigfuneralcremationservices.com.  Charles Danforth, Supervisor
