Elaine (Putanko) Valecko

Elaine (Mimi) Valecko, age 89, of Port Vue, died November 17, 2019. She was born on October 18, 1930, in Uniontown, PA. She was the daughter of the late John and Mollie (Marva) Putanko. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Peter P. Valecko and her brother, John R. Putanko.
Elaine graduated from South Union High School in Uniontown. Elaine was a member of St. Mark Parish, where she retired after serving over 30 years as housekeeper. Her social activities included: The Christian Mothers, Port Vue Seniors and Port Vue Community Club. Elaine eventually became a snowbird and enjoyed playing bingo as a member of the Elks Lodge in Winter Park, Florida. She also enjoyed going to the casino, listening to polka music, yelling at the Steelers as a beloved fan, and spending time with family. Mimi loved her furry grandkids (dogs; Crosby, Archie, and Soldier, and cats; Stickers and Tiger.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters; Nancy (Kenneth) Goldsworthy of Elizabeth, Carol Valecko of Corapolis, Diane (Steve) Jackson of Elizabeth and Donna (Joseph) Maykut of Oviedo, FL; grandchildren, Angel, Molly, Jill, Nicholas, Aliyah, and Jordan; great-grandchildren, Madison and McKensie; many nieces and nephews; and her only surviving aunt, Verna Giachetti of Uniontown, PA.
Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory in McKeesport on Thursday, November 21, 2019, from 2-4 p.m., and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, November 22, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Michael Church in Elizabeth. Burial will follow at Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.
